Welcome
I graduated from Lynchburg College in Virginia with a Master of Education Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling (2015) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/ Sociology from St. Thomas University in Canada (2006). My internshp experience was spent working at an Addiction Management site in Lynchburg Virginia. I worked with men and women in recovery from addiction.
My Counsellor Education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counselling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
I am also licensed by the Allied Health Council in St. Lucia, (Registration #: AHC19830604).
I am certified in PREPARE ENRICH Relationship Education and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST).
I had been a Secondary School teacher for 7 years. During this time I realised that I had a keen interest beyond the requirement of the curriculum. I wanted to explore the cognitive and behavioural development of people. I always wanted to explore and encourage those who had difficulty coping with problems. It was not just about getting wonderful results but ensuring that each student had a solid enough foundation in order to succeed. I realised that I had to move from a Teacher role to a Counsellor role so that I could be better able and further trained to handle the new interest I had acquired.
